Canadian Air Ambulance – a 2014 overview

HI folks

ON my twitter feed today I spotted a post by

@UpshawCrystal

She is a Canadian flight nurse in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She linked a good overview article of Canadian Air Ambulance and recent suspension issues related to patient safety concerns. Well worth a read so thanks to her!

Here is the news article

High risks, high rewards: why was STARS service suspended?

  1. Sometimes things in EMergency Medicine goes wrong and we know it! But having the courage to stop an Helicopter ambulance service to preserve pateints safety, and running an overview on causes of incidents before resuming it? That is not a common behaviour! I mean at least in Italy! Patient first politic is such a rare issue!
    Even the very well done overview of HEMS service in Canada worth reading!
    Thanks for sharing!
