Hi Folks

Why the Aikido reference to emergency sedation? The fundamental principle of Aikido as a martial art is the belief that both attacker and defender are free from harm.

On today’s show, my good friends, Casey Parker and Tim Leeuwenberg, rural doctors in Australia, help me update you on our efforts to improve the standard of care of acutely agitated patients in rural and remote locations.

Show note references:

  1. Art of Chemical takedown by Rob Orman
  2. Lessons for management of acute agitation in rural EDs by Tim Leeuwenberg

  3. Management of the acutely agitated patient in a remote location, MJA statement
