Hi folks! Just been updating my emergency airway kit so thought I would take a photo and generate a discussion about what you all carry and have as your GOTO Gear in an expected or unexpected difficult airway!
The top photo is what I personally carry in my kit bag : Spare laryngoscopes x3 different sized blades, scalpel blade, spare Pocket bougie ( Thanks Jim!), oxygen tubing for needle cric ( the needles not in picture), disposable Vividtrac VL connected to old Asus EEE PC, King Vision VL with channeled blade, Atomiser syringe for topicalisation
Total approx cost of this emergency airway kit = $ 1200 ( excl Asus EEE PC – this was a giveaway free to me as it was going to get thrown in rubbish!)
The bottom photo shows my GOTO Supraglottic airway in Adults, Fastrach ILMA. I used to carry one in my kit bag but it is now carried in difficult airway retrieval bag in the aircraft. The LMA Supreme SGA in all sizes including neonatal is also carried in the aircraft retrieval kit bag.
So I am interested to hear what you all have in your emergency airway kits? What is your GOTO Gear in an airway emergency?

Being in-hospital, we have a big emergency airway trolley. Too big. And too big to list all the content. So the task is to find your GOTO airway kit, know it well and know where it is.
For me, on a standard intubation, but preparing for a unexpected difficult airway, I rely on pretty standard stuff: a standard laryngoscope and tube(s). Suction ready. I also want to know the location of the BVM, bougie and LMAs. A retractable single-use scalpel is always in my pocket. With this kit avialable, I feel I can solve most airway scenarios.
Expected difficult airways are different. I’ll usually involve more fancy stuff, like a video laryngoscope or a fibrescope for awake intubation.
